Anybody knows where this is??
Blackburn, looking south??
Bob
This picture has in the centre a light or telephone pole. The picture looks pretty old, so is not likely to be far off the road or at the south end, because there wouldn't be lights or phones there that long ago.. The foreground seems to be a road with the pole, maybe one of many, running along side it. I agree with Bob, it looks like a lake, rather than part of the ocean. The road could be that part of Divide Road that is extended from where the over-hill part of Divide, divides off. Where it goes past Usha's and the entry to the Golf Course. However, I don't recall any hills that would background Blackburn Lake facing south. However, it could be Blackburn Lake facing south-west from more where the original road was when it went up over the Divide. Probably that is what you meant, Bob. I am not good on directions. It probably does face south from the old Divide Road before Rock Crusher corner was added to the highway. One would need to see an aerial photo to get the proper shape of the lake and where the hills are.

what about Roberts Lake in the Cranberry?...Marguerite
It looks to me like Ford Lake taken from part way down Mereside Rd. which probably wasn't there when this photo was taken.

Fellow sleuths
I don't think it is Blackburn.
It is a power pole not a telephone pole. Try and visualize the golf course
and just doesn't fit. Frank if you play with the resolution there are some
sort of structure on the top right hand side which could be of some help.
The hill in the foreground looks manmade.
I agree with Mary an aerial photo could be very helpful

As a 'Newbie' I hate to even comment! However there is a small arm of Western lake that swings in behind the back side of David Woods cheese farm (their entrance is Reynolds Rd.) but we walked in, over private property with permission, via, I think, Dylan place. The view would be towards Bullman & Meyer Roads. Which could account for the high ground!! No idea about phone pole I would have to revisit.

I think Paul is onto something here. I have looked at Weston Lake from Valdy and Kathleen's which is a few doors before David Woods' place and this does look very much like it. It would be looking east from Reynolds Road. Perhaps taken before the farm John and Pam Ellacott's used to own was built???

Bullock Lake? (See attachments).
I don't know about the power pole in Frank's photo, but I recall a shed on Bullock's Lake about the location of what looks like a small shed in the front-right of Frank's photo.
We kids used to drape our bathing suits on the roof to dry from one day to the next when we kids swam there circa 1941.
