Michelle Sheehan and family were the last tenants of the Monk farmhouse on the Beaver Point Strata property.
They were required to move, so it could be demolished.
In 1998, her husband, Francis Coffey, died, hence she was a widowed single mother who raised her four children in the house.
Not long before Francis/Frank died, he spearheaded raising the money to purchase the large house Ollie Garner had built in Ganges for his family of 10 kids, rounding up $450,000 in five days to create the Core Inn for Salt Spring Island youth.
